One of the events planned in conjunction with the Port Jefferson’s Dickens festival this weekend is the Toys for Tots drop off and model railroad exhbit at the Belle Terre Community Center from noon to 8:00pm Fri, Sat and Sun (Dec 3rd thru 5th) .
The model railrod exhbit is a must see for kids and adults alike. According to one of the volunteers who was working on it all this week, it will be a fantastic exhbit. Even better than last year!
Also the US Marine corp Reserve’s Toy for Tots is a wonderful program for kids in need. The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. If you can please donate an unwrapped toy for a local child in need, it will be greatly appreciated.
Admission is free for this event. During the Dickens festival you can take the Dickens trolly up to the Belle Terre Center and take it back after you see the Train Exhbit and drop off your Toys for Tots donation!
