Night Heron Artists Exhibit at the Port Jeff Village Center Till Jan 5, 2012

 Port Jeff Village Center on 110A East Broadway, Port JeffersonThere will be an artists  reception this Sunday Nov 20th for the opening of  ” A Sense of the Past” an art exhbit by the Night Heron Artists at the PJ Village Center.   Make sure to make some time to catch this exhbit. The multi level Port Jeff Village Center is a great place for an art exhbit. During the day you have great natural light and the upper levels of the  Village Center has great spot lighting for the art exhbits.

You are cordially invited to attend the opening of 
“A  Sense of the Past: Watercolors by the Night Heron Artists.”

The reception will be held at the Port Jefferson Village Center on Sunday, 

November 20, from 5 to 7 pm. Refreshments will be served.

The exhibit will include more than 120 watercolors by the Night Herons, a group of area artists who meet weekly and paint together at the Village Center.

Finding inspiration in vintage photographs provided by the Port Jefferson Village Digital Archive, the Night Herons painted historically accurate compositions of bygone Port Jefferson such as views of the Bayles Shipyard, Roulston’s Groceries and the schooner PALESTINE. The show will also feature scenes of old Stony Brook, East Setauket and Belle Terre, as well as still life and contemporary landscapes.

The event is sponsored by the Recreation Department of the Incorporated Village of Port Jefferson, the Night Herons and THE CONSERVANCY.

The Port Jefferson Village Center is located at 101A East Broadway   

and is open seven days a week, except holidays, from 9 am to 9 pm.   


Admission is free.
The exhibit will end Thursday, January 5, 2012.
