Whether you’re just getting back from college for the holidays or you are finally taking some time off and can catch up with old friends, there are plenty of options for places to grab a drink in and around Port Jefferson. Here are some popular locations to enjoy a drink and kick back with friends in the area:

  • If you are looking for a night out on the cheap, stop by the one and only Tara Inn for dollar burgers and cheap beer.
  • Tommy’s Place in Port Jefferson: half price bottle and tap beer, as well as half price appetizers during their happy hour from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Schafer’s is a restaurant and bar that provides a casual and late-night atmosphere. Featuring live entertainment and DJ entertainment, Schafer’s consists of two levels and specializes in seafood and sushi.
  • Cattlemen’s Steakhouse & Saloon is an unabashed steak joint on Route 112 right in Port Jefferson Station. Cowboy hats and country music abound. The bar is big enough for all your friends to gather and enjoy a night out or go to listen to live music.
  • Eldorado American Grill will make a great place to get together with your old crew with plenty of HD screens to watch the big games.
  • Billie’s 1890 Saloon, is a great place for a cheap drink. The setting appeals to the younger set, with big crowds and a loud atmosphere. The wheel of $2 drink specials is spun every weekend, to much fanfare.
  • C’est Cheese offers a place to sit and relax with a bottle of wine or beer paired with fine cheeses.
  • On weekends at Toast they open up for wine and tapas among the rotating exhibit of up and coming fine artists.
  • Grumpy Jack’s is a fun-time sports bar and grill with several televisions to satisfy the sports fan in everyone.
  • At Tequila Jacks there’s always a live band playing and the relaxed, airy setting is reminiscent of the islands that it’s emulating
