Heart Warming WinterFest -Port Jefferson

The first annual Heart Warming Winterfest organizers have just updated the  schedule of events. The  village wide event will take place on Saturday, Feburary 12th from noon till dusk.  It looks like mother nature will cooperate so it will be a great day to come down to Port Jefferson and shake off a little cabin fever!.  

There are lots of family friendly family activites planned.  The local restaurants will be competing  in a Chili Cook-Off to see who makes the best chili in Port Jeff. See details below and don’t forget to vote in our informal poll. There will be lots of things going on all around Port Jeff. Ice and wood carving demonstrations are planned and there will be ice skating at the Village Center.  Starbucks and the Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce are providing free hot chocolate and coffee and cookies at a hospitality center they will be setting up at 216-a Main St.  Pindar also located on Main st, will be having a wine tasting event!  The Port Jefferson Library will have a special crafts workshop event. 

While in Port plan to have lunch or dinner in one of the participating restaurants on Feb 12th and receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win $50 gift certificates. Many of the restaurants restaurants are featuring their special love inspiring Valentine menus.

And if you need to do a little Valentine shopping, spend $20 at participating stores and receive a raffle ticket with the chance to win one of six jewelry  prizes, two Visa cash cards, a large teddy bear or a Godiva  chocolate basket!  Tell your friends and family about the Heart Warming festival and stop down and have some Fun!!!

HOSPITALITY & INFORMATION CENTER  

  • 12-4pm   Located at 216-A on Main Street
  • Come in for info, warmth, & free cookies, coffee & hot chocolate. Sponsored by Starbucks & Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce.

CHILI CRAWL  

  • 12 pm – 4 pm –Harbor Square Mall
  • $5 : Purchase your sample chili mug at the Harbor Square Mall and start the “crawl.”  Vote for your favorite and crown the winner of “best chili’ in Port Jeff! .Participating restaurants: Billie’s, Tequila, Jacks, Paces, the Village way, Gourmet Burger Bistro, The Pie, Danfords, Tommy’s Place, The Steamroom, Fifth Season and Portside

“LIVE” ICE-SCULPTING DEMONSTRATION  

  • 12:00pm – 4:00pm-Mill Creek Road

WOOD CARVING DEMONSTRATION   

  • 2:00 pm- Steamroom/ Frigate  Parking Lot. Main Street
  • Local Teacher & Artist- Rich Anderson.

FREE CRAFTS AT THE LIBRARY  

  • 1-4pm   Port Jefferson Free Library – 100 Thompson St. Ages 2-12.

  CHILDREN’S MARITIME MUSEUM  

  • 1 pm – 4 pm  Port Jefferson Village Center – First floor
  • “Have a Heart,” – Design and create your own nautical valentine for your message in a bottle. $5 per child.

CALLING ALL PET LOVERS  

  • 12 pm – 5pm    Fetch at 301 East  Main St.
  • “Doggy Art Show”  Famed NY artist Alexis Trice.

DINE-A-ROUND RAFFLE  

  • 12 pm – 11 pm
  • Dine in at one of the following restaurants and receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win $50 gift certificates from five of your favorite local eateries. The participants,  include  Danfords, Gourmet Burger Bistro, Paces, Tequila Jacks, Tommy’s Place, Village Way,  Costa De Espana, Billie’s, The Village Way, The Pie, Portside, Fifth Season and more.

SHOP-A-ROUND RAFFLE  

  • 12 pm – 6 pm
  • Spend $20 or more at one of our participating shops and receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a piece of jewelry from a group of participating jewelers.  Six jewelry  prizes, two Visa cash cards, a large teddy bear and a Godiva  chocolate basket will be awarded.
  • Drop off the raffles at the shops listed on the tickets, given with your  $20.00 purchase.

WINETASTING   

  • 12-pm- 4pm
  • Pindar Wine Store – 117 Main Street Step inside and sip some wine at Pindar’s wine tasting.

ICE SCULPTURES ON DISPLAY  

  • 12 pm – 6 pm    Danfords-E. Broadway, Main Street next to Chase Bank and by the Gap, East Main Street by Toast & Pattern Finders

ICE SKATING  

  • 10 AM-10 pm The Village Center
  • 10 am – 6 pm / Adults $10.50, Children $8 (plus $5 skate  rentals )    8 pm – 10 pm / Adults and Children $11 (plus$5 skate rentals)
