On August 6, 2011, Mr Tommy Schafer opened the doors to his dueling piano lounge and the downstairs dining rooms at the completely renovated Schafer’s Restaurant on West Broqdway. Mr. Schafter’s vision is to create a Port Jefferson landmark and everyone got their first glimpse of things to come last Saturday.
Schafer’s ( previous restaurants at this address include the Catch, Papa Joes and Docksicde) has undergone complete, floor to ceiling renovations. The downstairs lounge is a great example of Mr Schafters attention to detail 
with the finest marine mahogany walls , vintage styled booths and stylish ebony oak floors. The roomy lounge area features a classy walk around wood bar, surrounded by vintage, over stuffed booths with a large stage area with two baby grand pianos! The bar is destined to become a popular nightspot and watering hole. The piano lounge is classy enough that one day Billy Joel might even show up to play a few tunes!

Billy Joel probably won’t show up this Friday but if you want to have some fun and see Schafer’s dueling piano bar first hand, stop down and check out the “dueling pianos” show which will start at 9:30.
Stop down and enjoy the show and keep an eye out for Billy Joel. It’s only a matter of time before he checks out the dueling pianos!

My boyfriend and I stopped by the upper deck the other night had a couple of small plates and enjoyed the sunset- really delightful!
