Luckily you don’t have to be able to say La Bonne Boulangerie to go to this fantastic bakery. But as soon as you walk in the door you know you are in a great bakery. The counters and shelves are filled daily with freshly made cookies, breads, pastries and they always have a wonderful selection of cakes.
Like Rye Bread? Their rye bread with caraway seeds is particularly wonderful and of course they slice it if you like.
In the morning, people in the know stop by the Boulangerie for a fresh buttered roll and a freshly brewed coffee.
Another tip, if you happened to be going to a party bring a cake and some of their fresh baked pastries. Guaranteed, everybody at the party will be asking you where you bought the cake! Not to worry, all you have to say is ”Oh at the bakery by the Port Jeff Village Hall” !
- When: Open 7 days a week

[la bun boo-lawn-jer-ry'] is about how you say it, oh and no dipthongs.
I hear the French have a special way to say it- something like ” boo lingerie” mon ami
right, but how do you say ‘lingerie?’
I have researched this word and some times the french have been heard to say “boo panties” which roughly translates to the english word for “Bakery” I’m now trying to find the Spanish word for bakery!

I live in Centereach and always went to the famous Benkerts Bakery…. but they have gotten very crowded, expensive and impersonal…
I have a store in PJ but never went to La Bonne Boulangerie… I am not a sweet eater myself… until finally I went there purely out of conveneince for a holiday after a frustrating episode at Benkerts… and the cakes were a huge hit for our guests…… they, also customers of Benkerts, wanted to know where I got these delicious products..
Now I buy all my bakery needs at La Bonne Boulangerie…. if you have not tried it, please do… you will not regret it…
