Best Auto Parts store around. You can go in that place with the craziest things. I was in there one time and some guy needed bearings for a “Robot” he was building. The counter guys figured out what he needed by size etc etc and got him his Robot bearings..very cool.
in 1966 I moved to Shoreham at 16. I went to Port High. Having worked many “service stations” as a kid I lived in ABI. In 69 we bought the Mobile station on Rt 347 and Crystal brook Hollow road
. We used ABI throughout our time there. Bob was always a pleasure to see. I have so many memories inside those wall, correct me if I am wron but FRed was the machinist in the back. No matter what we brought him he always came throught. I am working for a competiter auto parts company in Florida now. I still remember those early days. I wish you continued success. Thank You for passing on the info. I left the Island and did 24 in the Air Force, however coming back home lost its magnate after parent moved down south. I miss it everyday. Great people, fantastic food, but life moves forward. Nothing better than watching a institution such as ABI continue on. The service provided is a cornerstone in helping Port Jefferson be a place we all want to return to. It’s funning I have been in contact with a former driver who totaled Bob’s truck at 25a and Nesconsett at the Shell station. Thought Bob was going to loose it. Ah the simple good ol’e days
